Suitcase Killer: The Melanie McGuire Story is the latest Lifetime drama that tells the story of a nurse with murder on her mind, and is based on the true story of Melanie McGuire, who was convicted of killing her husband in gruesome fashion. Suitcase Killer premieres tonight on Saturday, June 18, at 8 p.m. with a live broadcast on Lifetime.

Lifetime is bringing to life the sad and salacious tale of Melanie McGuire (played by Candice King) who was a fertility nurse married to her ex-Navy husband, Bill (played by Michael Roark), and also the mother to two young boys.
But her happy home life gets complicated when Melanie falls for Brad (played by Jackson Hurst), a doctor at her clinic which leads to all parties being entangled in a steamy love affair. That’s when Melanie snaps. To clear a path for her new life, she murders her husband Bill, chops him up and places his body parts into three suitcases before throwing them into Chesapeake Bay.
The suitcases were eventually found on the shores of Virginia Beach and an investigation was launched leading to Melanie as the prime suspect. Assistant Attorney General Patti Prezioso (played by Wendie Malick) leads the effort of authorities to bring Melanie to justice, who despite being convicted, continues to maintain her innocence.
