KTM is busy updating its motorcycles in the Indian market. The latest motorcycle to get an update is the RC 390. It has been priced at Rs. 3.15 lakhs ex-showroom which is Rs. 40,000 more than the previous RC 390. Here, is a walkaround video of the new motorcycle.
The video is uploaded on YouTube by Thrust Zone. KTM has updated the design of the new RC 390. It no longer looks as sharp as the pre-facelift one. For many people, the design is a bit polarizing.
Up-front there is a new wide headlamp that is an LED unit. The LED turn indicators are also new and are placed on the fairing which is also new. The visor is also bigger so there should be better wind protection. The rear view mirrors have also been revised and the fuel tank is also new. It now holds 13.7 litres of fuel. There are new alloy wheels that are lighter and stiffer.

The rear sub-frame and the split seats are also new. KTM says that the new seats should be more comfortable and they are wider too. What catches the eye from the side profile is the new exhaust. It definitely is unique and does look very good. There would be two new paint schemes as well. They will be KTM Electronic Orange and KTM Factory Racing Blue.
There would be some new features as well. There would be a new traction control system, cornering Anti-lock braking system and quick shifter. The multi-function switchgear and TFT screen would be taken from the 390 Duke and 390 Adventure.
The engine is the same as the 390 Duke. It is a 373 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine. It produces 43.5 Ps of max power at 9,000 rpm and 37 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The gearbox is still a 6-speed unit which comes with a slip and assist clutch. With a weight of 172 kgs, the RC 390 should feel just as sharp as the previous one.
Braking duties are done by a 320 mm disc in the front with a radial-mounted caliper and 230 mm disc at the rear with a floating caliper. The India-spec RC 390 will not come with an adjustable suspension setup which is a bummer. The front unit is an up-side-down unit while at the rear you get a monoshock. The ground clearance of the motorcycle is 153 mm.
KTM recently also launched the 2022 390 Adventure. It is priced at Rs. 3.35 lakhs ex-showroom. The price of the motorcycle was hiked by Rs. 7,000. It now comes with two traction modes, there is Street and Off-road. The Street mode is for normal usage whereas, in Off-road mode, the traction control will amount to a limited amount of slip before kicking in. This will be beneficial while riders are riding out on trails. The traction control system will not default back to Street mode in case the motorcycle stalls or falls.
Then there are new 5-spoke alloy wheels that are not only lighter but stiffer than the previous 12-spoke units. KTM introduced two new colours. They are two new colours, there is Dark Galvano Black and KTM Factory Racing Blue.
