Russell de Moose, left, and Julian Altbuch are the duo Drum and a Tantrum. They released a new single this year, "Holy Grove," which encompasses the music they've refined since the COVID pandemic began.

The go-to line for anyone whose heard enough of Drum and a Tantrum’s music is that they sound like a band with twice as many members as they have – two, Russell de Moose and Julian Altbuch, both of Jersey City.

After producing two albums and an EP, along with touring and seeing two of their songs featured in a trailer for the Showtime series “City on a Hill,” de Moose and Altbuch went into the (ongoing) coronavirus pandemic the way most responsible people tried to do – taking a path that kept them separate and safe.
